Sommartider hej hej

August 8. 2006

Gerilja Film hopes all our clients and collaborators have enjoyed a pleasant summer (they must have, if they stayed in Bergen).

This fall will be an interesting one for Gerilja Film, with the finalization of several running projects, and the conception of new, equally (or more!) exciting ones.

Stay tuned for updates and, as always, feel free to approach us with whatever you might wish to enquire about.

Oh, and make sure you check out ORBO & The Longshots' new album "Genuine, Handmade" which is out soon. The whole recording process of the album was documented by Gerilja Film, and will be released as part of the rockumentary entitled "ORBO & The Longshots: Tennessee Sessions".

A teaser for the film, as well as our two music videos recorded "over there" are embedded in the CD. Sweet!

Project Announcement:

Brukne Vinger

June 6. 2006

Gerilja Film are well underway on the pre-production of the short film "Brukne Vinger", written by Bergen-based Swedish film maker Michael Axelsson, who will also be directing the piece. The film is to be a dramatic tale of accidental yet unforgivable acts and the subsequent urge for vengeance fuelled by them.

The funds are well under way to being realized, and prominent names are already attached to the project, these to be disclosed soon, so make sure you check back for updates!

Gerilja Film & Orbo & the Longshots

January 5. 2006

(press release from www.orbo.no)

"....After a succesful 2005, ORBO & The Longshots are now about to go back to the US to record their next album. Gerilja Film will come along on this journey where one of the stops are legendary SUN STUDIO in Memphis, Tn. Gerilja Film wants to make a roadmovie documentary during ORBO & The Longshots' recording sessions.

ORBO & The Longshots work under the slogan "Genuine Handmade Rock'n'Roll From Norway" and on this album the bands' skills and craftmanship will be put to a test. The album will be recorded live "in sessions" (everyone plays at the same time, not track by track) without using these "helpful" and cheatful tools as AUTO TUNE, drum machines etc.

The documentary will also investigate the music buisness' advantages and disadvantages and show us where the difference lies between a good-old Norwegian rock'n'roll band and the pop music babes where music is mass produced by computers just to be used in videos or in playback-shows on tv...

Gerilja Film is a filmproduction company run by idealistic souls from Bergen. Gerilja Film is the exact opposite of those big multimillion corporations. They have applied for sponsorship and financial aid to be able to make this documentary that hopefully will fill the viewers in on what may be concidered the toughest and most cynical buisness in the world. And YOU have the possibility to support the film crew. All you have to do is to show up at this special ORBO & The Longshots show at Club Kamelon JANUARY 19TH 2006. CoverCharge 80,-NOK

You see, all money from ticket sales will go directly to Gerilja Films' production budget.

At this special show on this special night ORBO & The Longshots will roll up their sleeves and give us a sneak preview on their new songs, and give the audience the possibility to hear the songs before they will be recorded. We will also get to hear the songs from ORBO's 2005 debut release "Seven". Gerilja Film will also present the entire project on stage before the show. This will be a night for kings and queens from another dimension.

Go ahead and kick off 2006 with rock'n'roll - genuine, handmade rock'n'roll!

Merethe Soltvedt video bad link fixed

December 04. 2005

For some reason the link to the Merethe Soltvedt video "Back where I Started" didn't work, but has now been fixed. You can find it in the video archive.

Note that this Windows Media Video-file fails to change to 16:9-format (widescreen) in some versions of Windows Media Player, so if you encounter this problem (i.e. the picture is "stretched" to 4:3-format), right-click the file and download it, and play it back in another player, such as WinAmp, PowerDVD, QuickTime or VLC.

Merethe Soltvedt video up

December 04. 2005

By tonight the Merethe Soltvedt video "Back where I Started" should be online in the video section of this website. In addition, there is finally a preview clip of the Foggy Few video "The Pint of No Return".

Also, browsing could potentially reveal other, minor updates and changes, so stay alert and avoid getting lost. We recommend building a snow fort, which we will be doing at our julebord this year. Fun for all!
